Artist's Statement:
I refer to my work as bas-relief sculpture. I developed my technique of bas-relief some thirty odd years ago while working on a Master's Degree project. The nature of the process is not conducive to repetitious editions. Therefore all of my work is "one of kind". You will not find edition numbers stamped on my bronze. I take great pride in the fact that I personally do all of the processes including the framing. I am my own patineur using formulas that I have developed over the years. My free standing sculpture forms are created from the same techniques as the wall mount and often are companions to each other. My art is inspired by natures' beauty. The images are those of the natural things that we see and interpret in our everyday travels. I see nature as a perfect source that makes no mistakes, just variations from the norm. I create images out of context to emphasize the phenomenon of a tiny or vast impression of something natural.
