Preparing a Mobile for Shipping
Materials you will need:
-
Corrugated card board
-
Packing twine
-
Packing needle
-
Spray glue
-
Bubble wrap 1/4 inch bubbles
-
Packing tape

Cut two (2) pieces Cardboard to size approximately 1 to 2 inches wider than the parts to ship.
Cut bubble wrap to twice the neccessary size to cover board so as to be able to fold it over the Mobile part .
Spray Glue on one Cardboard, one can also use double sided adhesive tape.
Lay bubble wrap on glue.

Lay Mobile part on the bubble wrap.

Fold over Bubble wrap.

Cut a length of twine long enough to sew the Mobile to board. Add a generous extra length to allow tying in the back once done.

Start threading the twine from one end. Use the Packing needle to make holes from the front.

Making the hole from the front will make sure you do not scratch the finish by coming up blindly from the back.
At the end tape on all four sides.
Here is what you should have when you are done.

Viewed from the back. The extra twine is used to web around several points and tightened then knotted. Note that the thread is also taped after all is done. The twine will break somewhat easily if stressed and the taping keeps everything in place if it does break.

Place a couple of extra layers of bubble wrap and plave the second piece of card board over the front. Take care to cross the boards ridges as shown on the picture below, this adds structural strength.

Use tape to sandwich both board together.
How to pack a StabiloMobile Base
Materials you will need:
-
Bubble wrap 1/4 inch bubbles
- Packing tape
- Cork
At first cut several 2" to 2,5" wide and 24" to 36" long strips of bubble wrap.

Start at the bottom one of the base's legs and wrap a wad of bubble wrap around its end.Tape around the wad. Then wrap the rest of the length of bubble wrap up the base's leg until you run out and use tape to secure the bubble wrap. Be careful not to stick any tape on the finish. Proceed with the other legs in the same way. Wrap the top of the base and stick the cork on the point, tape it to the bubble wrap.
